A study followed 125 long distance cyclists, some in their 80s, and found they had the immune system of 20 year old, it means they have added protection against all these issues. The researchers looked at markers in the blood for T-cells which facilitate our immune system's ability to respond to new infections, T-cells are produced in the thymus, a gland located in front of heart.

The thymus normally shrinks in size in adulthood, the cyclists were producing the same level of t-cells as adults in their 20s whereas a group of inactive older adults were producing very few. The researchers believe that being physically active in an old age will allow people to respond better to vaccines  and will protect them against various deadly infections. You don't need to be competitive athlete to reap the benefits, anything which gets you moving will help.

Dancing can also reverse the signs of aging the brain, by improving memory, learning and balance, it helps with stress, anxiety and depression, trying different types of dance keeps you in a constant learning process, which increases the size of the hippocampus in your brain.
